So we now (almost) have enshrinement of the use of the titles Financial Planner or Financial Adviser after the Bill was passed last night. We just have to wait for it to be approved by the Senate which apparently is just a formality.

This is a good thing to protect investors from aggressive spruikers & marketers who have been exploiting the terms and exposing people via their pressure sales tactics & shady dealings.

After July 1 any individual calling themselves Financial Planner or Adviser must be duly licensed or authorised to do so. Hooray!
